Oooops.... Banned Again From WOBF

You can run but you can’t hide

Seems I've got another commenting holiday for the below (15.05.16).
I was thinking about posting this and having a full on rant but when as I was trawling for all the comments I saw this which has made me reconsider.
I'm still posting it because this is my blog and I'll do what I like but I think I'll keep it in context. It's their blog and they can do what they like and it's not like I didn't know the rules.

"“But the huge mountain of student debt is something we need to rethink.
At $15 billion and still growing, it is clearly getting out of hand.”

Here's an idea Chip. Let's axe all the dopey courses these little bludgers can get loans for....woman's studies, media studies, film, basket weaving....blah blah the list of idiot courses is endless because all it is is another gravy train for troughers to set up some dimwitted academy and get accredited.
As my Dad used to say the best way to get ahead is to make your own job and this lot have perfected it aided by a compliant socialist government.

Media studies maybe but film is an industry and a highly technical one at that.
 Avatar
There are very few long term career opportunities in NZ film with the exception of the highly technical ones and even then not so many.
Yet every kid I talk too wants to be a film director or movie star and these muppets encourage this moronic behavior along with the dimwitted parents that make statements along the lines of "Follow your dreams" and other moronic platitudes.
Fine...follow them but why the hell should I fund them?
There are many pointless and wasteful course out there and its high time they were culled out.

I think you need to widen your views somewhat. The statement 'every kid I talk to' shows that really you are talking a lot of rubbish. My son has a masters in film, is a published author and a highly motivated and talented young man. Do you suggest that is ability would be best suited to your narrow view of the world?
We are not all the same. Vive la difference!

 Avatar
I think you are typical of the so called art set. Easy to offend and quick to insult.
You should probably try and get some context from my comment instead of focusing solely on the film aspect. There are any number of taxpayer funded (me) film course's that have no value.
Avatar
So the centuries of rich cultural heritage we have of music, literature, and theatre means nothing to you? You must lead a very narrow existence if you cannot appreciate the arts of which film is one.
BTW I don't have an artistic bone in me and even though I am a business professional and owner I do appreciate it immensely. For what it is worth I wouldn't know what the art set was unless you mean my talented wife's watercolours.
Clearly you have little understanding of the creative process and it appears that unless someone conforms to your narrow view of the world you discount what they have to offer.
My son is a published author, has written, funded and produced a feature length movie. He works full-time to fund his passion to write and uses the film production skills he acquired as part of his degree every day. He is close to purchasing his own house in Auckland and pays a heap of tax just like you and I.
In the past authors, composers, and playwrights relied on the patronage of the wealthy to allow them to give us the wonderful art we enjoy. By the sound of it if you had your way none of this would exist. Now wouldn't that be a sad world to live in?
BTW one of my daughters is a journalist. That must really upset your sensibilities.

[The following occurred the next day AFTER I saw the reply above. This cunt is on his high horse over some perceived slight to his kids industries which was never my point and I don't give a rats arse if his kids are in film or journalism, they are both genuine jobs and given that I come from a film family why would I care? But I'm fucked if I'm going to sit around and let some fucktard tell me what my world view should be and insult me in the process, I'm sick and fucking tired of precious over sensitive cunts like this]

So what? I'm not wealthy and your family is bludging off me!
And there was a time sunshine when I was brilliant artist and a worthy musician but needs must. And I had to earn a real living not bleed one off someone else.
I have no objection to the arts or those that want to pursue them. I heartily object to paying for it.
Grow up ya sook. And tell ya kids to pay their loans back. And their mates.

Time to go troll someone else. Bye.

Of course the following on the same day as the first part of the post above probably didn't help my cause. Got to admit it was a brainless thing to do. Especially when the reply was to a mod.

Arrogant t**ts that think they can drive down the right hand lane on Wairau Road and cut in at the last minute to get onto Tristram Ave in the mornings.
Good luck if I'm the car whose lunch ya trying to cut!
Oh....and those that let queue jumpers cut their lunch...the gutless wimps!

All in all not one of my better days LOLOL.

HDPA-Trump Voters Are Stuipd

Well the vapid SAFA strikes again, this time calling Trumps supporters stupid along with a number of other outrageous suggestions. Let's take a look at them shall we?
Rich stupid people like to refer to themselves as "The Silent Majority" according to some
"It is normally educated rich people who vote, so when politicians make decisions, they reward the educated rich who put them there.
They don't reward the uneducated poor because that won't win them votes. And when things go wrong, they start taking privileges and rights away from those uneducated poor."
Sorry...what? I guess she's forgotten the KFC and vans and the way WFF was introduced in NZ?
As a rule the vote buying and outright bribery that occurs during an election cycle is aimed at the unproductive and lazy, those Heather prefers to think of a "poor". For example

"Sanders is promising free tertiary education in a country accustomed to user-pays. He's advocating a 10 per cent surcharge on billionaires in a country where kids are taught to strive to get rich, but few do.
His policies are radical but Bernie's Bros love them. They're young men who care enough this election to vote when young men are normally some of the hardest to get to the ballot box.
Arguably, Sanders' policies are more constructive than the ones promoted by the reality star with the gymnastic face."
Not to hard to see Heather's slathering left wing sympathies and bias dripping from every pore of her body.

She then proceeds to portray Trumps supporters  in the worst possible light

"In a strangely undemocratic twist, some in the US would rather Trump's supporters didn't vote. They think his supporters are racist, misogynists, blue-collar workers and uniformly stupid.
But democracy doesn't require an IQ test. Stupid people are allowed to vote, too."
Apparently they are allowed to write newspaper columns as well!

"He [Trump] has reminded the voters that the power lies with them, not with the political elite in Washington.
He has got people - even the stupid ones - voting."
She really is to much. I'm sure her and Jack Tame are having a wonderful time putting average Americans down that don't agree with their left wing view of the world. If you are reading this from the USA please note that despite her claims she is NOT a Kiwi.

Useful Advice for the Amateur Red Wine/Port Fancier

When should wine be decanted?

Well I've never known nor cared until recently but I've decided to relook at Reds as I always enjoyed them so I took a trip around Google to find out. Unsurprisingly there is a multitude of advice and video (god I hate how to video's) but I found this. Easy read and simple enough to do.

I also found this, the decanter I got for my 21st birthday which has never been used...until now.

"Decanting wine has a practical purpose but is frequently regarded as mere affectation. Do you decant, and if so, what?
As if the stress of getting Christmas lunch on the table were not enough, there's also that last minute panic of wondering whether anything needs to be decanted. If you do, you're not alone. Few aspects of wine service are more misunderstood. Decanting is probably as often performed unnecessarily on wines that don't need it as omitted (possibly for reasons of embarrassment) for wines that do.
The most obvious reason to decant is that the wine has thrown a deposit, and that's really only likely with vintage or crusted ports and aged unfiltered reds. For the process to work effectively the bottle needs to have been upright for several hours, then be carefully poured into the decanter in front of a light (traditionally a candle) so you can see as the sediment inches towards the neck. You need to do this in a single movement so that it doesn't fall back and get mixed up with the wine again.
You may also want to get some air into a wine that smells slightly stinky - there are more of these around given the growing popularity of natural wines made with no or very little sulphur - or full-bodied young reds that need a bit of aeration to mellow over-aggressive tannins. You might even want to decant a full-bodied white if you feel it's tasting a bit funky or not showing at its best. When deprived of oxygen wines can develop strange aromas. If they get worse after decanting the wine is probably corked.
How far ahead to decant depends on the wine. it may simply be a question of getting a bit of air into it, in which case simply decanting before you pour will do the trick (much more effective than pulling the cork and leaving the bottle open for an hour or so).
Wines you don't want to decant too far ahead - or at all - are fragile old reds which might fall apart once exposed to air, most ports (you don't need to decant a late bottled vintage or a tawny, for example) or crisp dry fino or manzanilla sherries, which should be served chilled from the fridge - however much that may horrify elderly relatives.
Decanters don't need to be expensive cut glass crystal heirlooms. We've picked most of ours up from charity shops. You can even use a jug. If you're embarrassed by the whole process you can simply double decant: pour the wine into a jug and from the jug back into the bottle (rinsed if the wine has thrown a deposit).
The ideal shape, if you're looking for presents, is one with a wide base like this which gives you plenty of room to swirl the wine - gently - around. And which actually looks quite stylish on the table.
Which, if any, wines might you decant, or would you feel self-conscious about doing it in front of family and friends?"

Page Two of Todays HOS-Sick days for pets???

Pet Sick Leave? Seems there are businesses in the world that give their employees leave to look after pets.

Well OK...fine..it's their business but FFS once more the Herald seems to be coming in on the side of abject stupidity.

For on thing how does a story like this get the inside cover? Actually how does it get into a newspaper (I laugh and laugh) at all?

You want to use up your annual leave looking after your kitten fine by me. Don't however feel the need to ask for some kind of extra provision in the holidays act to get more time off although you can almost guarantee this will be the Heralds next bludging campaign.

Jesus these people give me the shits and I hope like hell I never meet the med student in the article. People that are obsessed with animals tend to put humans lower down the list.

Todays HOS-Page One

School installs toilet for transgender pupil, aged 6

Yep. They really did. Now this is a long winded load of horsehit and I can't be bothered with the whole article, it has no place in a newspaper and belongs in a woman's magazine, reading it was enough to tip me over the rage edge, suffice to say the parents of this kid must be some kind of fucking whack jobs and the school and board of trustees are nothing more than pandering wankers.

The article claims "a research project  in America in 2014 stated children become aware of their gender identity by age 3 to 5, and a report in the UK yesterday said children as young as 3 were being treated at gender transition clinics."

What a load of crap. I could with no effort whatsoever find a research group that claims beer will assist you to longer life or smoking lowers stress and chocolate is good for you but nobody with half a brain really believes the cheery picking of self interested lobby groups.

This so called  research will no doubt have been conducted by and/or on the behalf of the poofters ponces and queers in the USA and UK that are forever pushing their homo agendas down everyone elses throats.
There is no fucking way a fucking three year old (or a six year old) is sexually aware of their fucking gender and wants to be opposite to the way they were born.

The fucking queers and steers will stop at nothing to have themselves put out there at every opportunity right down to driving it into our primary schools. Everyone involved in this should be ashamed.

Jim Beam Introduces a New Pour Insert for Their Bottles

Bought this today, a one litre bottle of Jim Beam.

Q. What's wrong with this picture?
A. These fuckwits have inserted a pourer. Now its not a controlled pour and nor can you remove the fucking thing.

So what's your point you ask?

This. I can't put my controlled nip pourer in here. These brain dead cunts have created a spout for the use of  those with the fucking DT's one presumes but it's no fucking use to anyone that uses a mechanical nip pourer.

What genius thought this was a good idea? Do these pricks ever actually connect with their customers? Do they know they have customers? Do they care?

Well let me help you out Mr. Beam. You can stick up bourbon ya arse. This is the last bottle I will be buying!
Idiots!

Is This Even a Story?

Saw this in the paper this morning and it reinforced for me my decision to cancel my Herald subscription.

US tourist: New Zealand Airbnb host stole my husband

Seriously, what is this? Some sort of hit job? I didn't even know what Airbnb was? Apparently its some kind of Uber style Bed n Breakfast site. Well OK...whatever..so these tightwads don't want to pay to stay in a proper hotel..well whoopie.

And her scumbag hubby does the dirty? So what? How is this news?
Why would anyone in their right mind think this was worthy of a place in a newspaper? The NZ Herald's editors, its journalists (I laugh and laugh) and NZME need to take a good long hard look at themselves if this is the kind of crap they believe their readers aspire to.

Good riddance to it.
