Im a libertarian? OMG...who knew?

Not me that's for sure. But since I can't comment there I'll do so here.

Can't believe I've been lumped in with Barry & Romney!

Not sure who wrote this, seems English isn't their first language but it's just a bit of fun. If you want to take a look click the link and go find it on WO.

Most of my answers are fairly obvious but a couple may surprise. I've put comments in [RED] where I felt like it.

Your (my) answers were:
  • The Government should not censor any opinion in any case.
  • The Church shall finance itself, and be in equal grounds with any other association.
  • Military service shall be voluntary. That is the best way to have a professional army prepared to defend our interests and commitments abroad.
  • Laws should not interfere with sex between consenting adults, in no case.
The government should fight drug trafficking with more resources and more effectively.

[I'm against drugs and I've been very clear over the years as to why. This may not be a very libertarian view but fuck it, I always considered myself more of a conservative anyway if it wasn't for their annoying propensity to prattle on and fucking on about God. Jesus Christ...enough already!]

  • The laws and the judiciary should establish in which cases preventive measures go before certain individual rights.
[I'm afraid I just don't believe that everyone's personal liberties should be up to them to defend as some people can't and nor do I believe that everyone has the right to do as they damn well please just because they are strong enough too!]
  • Any imposition or benefit based on criteria of sex, race or social group, violates the principle of equality before the law, and should not be imposed by the Government.
[Absolutely, best person for the job and all that or the person I most want to work with. Any business or hiring manager that doesn't hire the best person because of their race, gender, creed, sexual orientation or whatever is a cock and will fail of their own accord and if they feel that way why the fuck would you want to work for them anyway?]
  • The Government shall regulate immigration to allow necessary immigrants to come in a legal way.
[All of them. I'm sick and fucking tired of this cherry picking focusing on Muslims. There are plenty of other cultures coming to this country that refuse to assimilate as well and despise us for the easy marks we are]
  • The Government shall protect and / or promote the culture and languge [sic] that characterizes its nation.
[I'm not convinced this reads the way I meant it. I simply chose this as it best answer. I don't want to turn around and find it is acceptable to promote a job in a restaurant were you must be fluent in Cantonese in NZ (seen this already) not that we should have endless days of Maori language week and make it compulsory in schools...fuck that..you want to learn a dead stone age language spoken by less people in history than the population of Timaru be my guest but don't force it on the rest of us!]
  • There would be less pollution should clear responsibilities and well-defined property rights with respect to pollution be established.
[Well duh...like who the fuck supports more pollution?]
  • The Government should limit imports from some third world countries, as they use cheap labor.
  • Taxes should not go up. They must be at the level required to meet the expenses of the State.
[There should be a flat tax of 22% imposed on every level of earning with no exemptions starting at $15,000 per annum]
  • Retirement plans should be guaranteed by the Government, with some kind of mixed model that can combine public and private plans.
  • The Government shall manage aid and an adequate assistance to the needy, regardless of whether private charitable institutions may voluntarily supplement that.
[The Government provides nothing to anyone, we the taxpayer do and as a taxpayer I believe that we have a duty to look after those that cannot look after themselves]
  • Professional sectors should be regulated by independent bodies, such as professional associations. Qualified professionals should join them, as their supervision ensures the quality of their services.
  • Labor unions should be governed by the rules applicable to any other association, and no public funding or special functions shall be attributed to them.
  • The Government should guarantee universal access to health care centers using some sort of public funding.
  • The Central Bank has a key role regulating the economy, so it must be independent and supervise commercial banks.
  • Big stores are businesses like any other. They are entitled to compete freely in the market, with no restrictions on their opening hours or prices.
  • Employment contracts should enjoy freedom of clauses between parties. Laws should not interfere in purely contractual matters, such as duration or termination causes.

Heavy Equipment and Some Fails

I've seen this a couple of times. A company I worked for has some equipment featured although I don't recognize any of the sites.
The music is rubbish but its not my video. Just putting it here because I've driven some of this gear and it interests me, along with the fact that its hard to get people to understand how bloody dangerous mining actually is.

Here's some of mine too, the dangers of working over an old underground mine that some of us had worked in previously.
Don't care what anyone say's, open cutting of underground mines has it's dangers.

Drive collapsed under truck
Tracked into peat instead of digging his way in. Took 3 days to recover.
Pitfall collapsed under truck, the truck was dragged out and the rest of the ground gave way to revel a 15m wide 30m deep pit, driver would have been killed.
View from D10 on top of tiphead. Long way down.

Tiphead above collapsed almost taking truck with it.

Oh No....The Worlds Gonna End....one day....maybe...perhaps....sez a computer and the NZ Herald!

More sensationalist clap trap from sensationalist boffins repeated by wanker churnalists.

"A massive earthquake called an "active megathrust fault" is posing a genuine threat to southern Asia.
And if the modelling is correct, this earthquake could be at least as devastating as the 2011 quake which devastated Japan and took 16,000 lives."

And if it's not correct? Oh well...one day...maybe.....

FFS computer modeling has given us global warming, climate change and the Kim Kardashian show(and who'd ever have thought that was possible?)

These chicken little pricks and the sensationalist media that spout this garbage need a good hard smack around the ear hole. All this is is more panic inducing crystal ball gazing claptrap!

"We don't know if it's tomorrow or if it's not going to be for another 500 years," study co-author Michael Steckler, a geophysicist at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University in New York City said in an article on the university website."We don't know how long it will take to build up steam, because we don't know how long it was since the last one. But we can definitely see it building."

So what the fuck do you know Michael? Well you know how to create a panic, frighten school children and get your name in the paper! Way to go!

And for a bit of good drama the Herald manages to throw in a nuclear disaster as well....cos they can...and the fucking climate change and anti fracking tin foil hat wearing fuckwits will be all over it...

"Damage to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant completed a deadly treble of disaster, contaminating an area which continues to see more than 100,000 displaced locals living as evacuees."

WTG...draw that bow, create that hysteria.

Is Mallard rooted? Asks Whaleoil

Well personally I hope he is but here's the rub. So far no one on WO has asked the obvious (to me anyway) question. Why the f%$& is John Key opening an office for a list MP? They don't have an electorate and should be in parliament every sitting day.

Who is paying for this? Dollars to a dollop of dog shit it's not the National Party but parliamentary services I.E. us!

List MP's are nothing but troughing scum.
I can of course hear the whiners that will hypocritically point out that it gives National voters in the Hutt a voice but that's just bullshit. If you want your electorate MP to be a National MP then work to get him elected. Otherwise deal with your MP even if he is a prick like Trev the Duck.

Kid Falls Off Jungle Gym-Whoopie

This is one of the reason's I cancelled this paper. Not only is the caption in the picture misleading.....

Who cares? Seriously? A kid falls off a bit of playground equipment and its national news? No wonder they are so pandered pampered and spoiled these days.

I expect that once more we will see the sniveling nanny state leftists calling for a ban on playground equipment that rises higher than knee level and mandatory bubble wrapping for any child that dares venture outside.

This charge will of course be led by the ninnies at the Herald. The upcoming generation is going to keep therapists world wide on easy street for the next 100 years thanks to all the PC wankers and soft cocks that have taken over the media.

Medical Marijuana Campaign

I've got no sympathy for this campaign.

The medical cannabis argument is simply a first stage to decriminalization of marijuana.

Image result for images of cartoon dope smoking
And that quite frankly is to the benefit of no one except the hop heads. And yes I've had my taste and more before anyone gets on their high horse.
My brother (a former drug and alcohol councilor) had a huge hard on about dope and used to quote studies and the like about the harm it did.
Now I'm not my brother and I don't have access to that info so when you all come crawling out of the woodwork demanding it I'm not going to be able to supply but the one thing I do know is it exists and the harm done by THC is NOT fictional.
And as its the THC component the legalise by stealth actually want I'm not really interested.

I don't believe there is any other agenda and call BS on the fact that for some people other available pain relief doesn't work.

Work Till I Die

Photo taken by author

I am under no illusion that I will do anything other than work to the day I die.
An unfair tax regime and a brutal divorce have seen to that.

At one time in my life I was being taxed at 66cents on the dollar in a job where I swung a shovel, drove heavy dangerous machinery and was seriously injured twice, all because I worked hard and did long hours.
More than 30 years later little has changed as those that work hard and are productive are taxed to death to support those that refuse to.

WFF and interest free student loans, a benefit system that encourages wastrels to breed to avoid work and a high tax ceiling set at a ridiculously low level designed to punish even the lowliest of wage slaves if they work hard enough have contributed to this.

Meanwhile those that earn excessive incomes, use trusts, property and sharp accounting to pay virtually nothing yet claim the largess above of WFF and IFSL continue to prosper and retire aged 50 to suck the life out of the rest of us.

Yep. That's what I expect. And for those that are bludging off the sweat of my brow I hope you are proud of yourselves.

Islam Explained

In light of recent barbaric events I think the following is appropriate. If you don't or feel the need to snivel about it tough fucking shit!

Why are Islamic Terrorists so quick to commit suicide?
Let’s have a look at the facts:
- No Christmas
- No television
- No nude women
- No football
- No pork chops
- No hot dogs
- No burgers
-No beer
- No bacon
- Rags for clothes
- Towels for hats
- Constant wailing from some idiot in a tower
- More than one wife
More than one mother in law!!!
- You can't shave
- Your wife can't shave
- You can't wash off the smell of donkey
- You cook over burning camel shit
- Your wife is picked by someone else for you
- and your wife smells worse than your donkey
Then they tell you that "when you die, it all gets better"??
Well no sh*t Sherlock!....
It's not like it could get much worse
THE MUSLIMS ARE NOT HAPPY!

They're not happy in Gaza ..
They're not happy in Egypt ..
They're not happy in Libya ..
They're not happy in Morocco ..
They're not happy in Iran ..
They're not happy in Iraq ..
They're not happy in Yemen ..
They're not happy in Afghanistan ..
They're not happy in Pakistan ..
They're not happy in Syria ..
They're not happy in Lebanon ..

SO, WHERE ARE THEY HAPPY?

They're happy in Australia .
They're happy in Canada .
They're happy in England ..
They're happy in France ..
They're happy in Italy ..
They're happy in Germany ..
They're happy in Sweden ..
They're happy in the USA ..
They're happy in Norway ..
They're happy in Holland .
They're happy in Denmark .

Basically, they're happy in every country that is not Muslim
and unhappy in every country that is!

AND WHO DO THEY BLAME?

Not Islam.
Not their leadership.
Not themselves.

THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE HAPPY IN!

AND THEN; They want to change those countries to be like....
THE COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM WHERE THEY WERE UNHAPPY!

Bernard Hickey won't be popular for stating the obvious

Its not often I agree with Bernard Hickey, for an economist he spends an awful lot of time on the left hand side of the road if you know what I mean.

Today he will have all the immigration apologists in a lather as he points out the painfully obvious and shows some true figures instead of the ambiguos dribble being touted by English and Key and regurgitated by the likes of Mike Hosking.

Anyone who claims that these people were needed and aren't simply being brought into the country in an effort to keep wages and conditions low is deluded. Did we really need 400 truck drivers or did we need 400 truck drivers that will drive for the min wage?

"Peters has been on a very high horse about migration, but his main concern is the astonishing growth in the number of working holiday and foreign student visas, particularly over the past three years."
The constant banging away at Peters as a racist is a ploy of those that have a vested interest in seeing house prices rise and keeping our lowest paid workers wages to the absolute minimum possible.  Peters isn't racist, he's a pragmatist that tells it like it is. But its easy to shut his message down by painting the messenger as a racist.

"Less than 50 per cent of the 72,000 jump in annual net migration since 2012 was driven by these transtasman flows and no one is suggesting these can or should be stopped.
But that still leaves more than 36,000 extra new migrants over the past year, compared with four years ago. Who are they, if they're not permanent and high-skilled residents?"
As I said the other day

"The occupations of working holidaymakers and students able to work here aren't given, but anyone frequenting the cafes, bars, dairies, Uber cabs and service stations of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown will have a reasonable idea."
Exactly, you only have to walk into any of these places to be served by someone that can barely speak a word of English or does so with an American accent that when confronted with a word or phrase outside their basic understanding simply fob you off or get a stupid look on their faces or start talking to you like you have a problem with them. These kids are keeping the rates down, living 10 to a room like they always have and stopping other kids (Kiwi ones) and low skilled adults from getting this work and seeing an increase in wages as the supply and demand rule kicks in.
The Government has managed to prevent that by artificially creating a plentiful supply of low skilled workers.

"It [Treasury] released a series of papers over the past year that showed its growing discomfort with the increase in low-skilled migrants and the risk that they are displacing local workers and keeping wages down.
"Current policy settings may not be doing all they can to support the growth of higher productivity firms and industries, including facilitating the flow of higher-skilled migrants to sectors of the economy where skill shortages may be acting as a significant constraint," Treasury officials said."
And this sent the Mike Hoskings and Bob Jones of the world into a tailspin accusing treasury or racism and playing to the crowd and of not following their masters wishes. Its not treasury's job to pander to the Government its their job to advise the Government. If they don't like or follow that advice well so be it. We voted for them.

"This may have been discouraging some firms from either increasing wages and working conditions or investing, either in training existing workforce or in capital," they [Treasury] said."
Really? May have? It bloody well is and anyone with eyes to see can see it.

Hickey continues with this

"Key is right about the pressures on the system and the need for more houses, but he is wrong about our recent migration patterns making the country richer. It has made some richer by pushing up land prices in Auckland and beyond, but it has led to stagnant wage and real GDP growth and has lumped a big up-front infrastructure bill on to taxpayers in general and Auckland rate payers in particular."
Multiculturalism doesn't work and mass migration only benefits the migrants. This has always been the case.
It's well past time the tap was turned off.

Three Imbeciles Catch the Wrong Bus

Another hit job by the NZ Herald on a kiwi business. This time Naked Bus is under the gun because three utter fucking halfwits that can't read an email attachment think they should get their picture in the paper have a bleat and get a refund?

"Three Chinese students saw more of New Zealand than they bargained for - ending up in Tauranga instead of their planned destination of the Waitomo Caves."
Well surprise...
"One of the trio, a student who wanted to be referred to only as Emma, said there was no warning on the booking website that they needed to change buses at Hamilton for the 71.4km leg of the trip to the Waitomo Caves.
But the required switch was referred to in an email attachment sent to the women."
But nooooo....its still the bus companies fault and the Herald still runs with the hit job...

"Emma hoped the company would refund the roughly $90 each woman paid for the return trip, but said it wasn't just about the money.
"I want them to really think about why their system is not complete."
The only thing not complete is this incompetent bitches sense of responsibility and ownership of her own abject fucking stupidity!

"She feared other travellers [sic] might also have suffered a similar fate."
Bullshit. Sniveling little bitch wants a refund on stupidity and will probably get one just because nobody wants bad publicity even when they are completely blameless.

My comment to WO on "Garner has no ides"

Well no.... he doesn't. He's a socialist whiner but so what?

Slater makes the comment "All of those things. Mind you I have worked more than 18 days straight…when was the last time you did that Duncan. "
Well again so what? It cracks me up when fucking elitists make unqualified statements like that. His idea of 18 days straight will be sitting on his arse on his blog that he gets up and leaves from any time he chooses and does other things then comes back to.

I've worked 100's of days straight more than once in low wage jobs. I keep making the same points but some dimwitted fucks don't get it, that it is possible to earn high yearly incomes and be taxed to death doing shit work.

The immigrant argument is a load of BS.
The reality is these people are lowering wages and conditions for low waged Kiwi's while at the same time putting more money in the pockets of unscrupulous (and the not so) employers pockets while at the same time driving the price of housing up in an over heated market.

The apologists for mass immigration like Mike Hosking do not live in the communities that are being overrun with people that are really here to take jobs off low skilled kiwis. The argument that they (kiwis) don't want the work is complete rubbish.

My ex wife has applied for numerous jobs in service industries like Mitre10 and Mobil service stations and has never got past the front door as without fail the work is given to Indian and Chinese students.

When was the last time anyone saw a middle aged white woman working in a Mobil in Auckland? In fact it would be appropriate to suggest that in Auckland anyway many of these industries are actually applying racist employment policies and simply employing their own.

As to this"But, here’s the thing, why don’t those bludgers go and get one of those jobs…that way the farmer or horticulturist or viticulturist won’t have to employ foreigners?
They simply won’t get off their arses to go to work. That is why we need immigrants."

Again I call bullshit. The reality was that agriculture was finally having to pay people better than min wage to front up so instead of raising wages to reflect the skill levels they flood the country with migrants that stay exactly long enough to gain residency and then piss off off the farms and into the cities.

Let's Tap the Boss for Some More Free Time Off

The NZ Herald has decided to start another moronic ill conceived campaign and has handed the poisoned chalice to Cherie Howie, this time for another day off because if you don't live in South Canterbury then there are no free (statutory) holidays until Labour Weekend after this weekend. Well boo bloody hoo.

At first I thought this was a joke until I saw the Heralds editorial. Even Peter Dunne (nothing) is against it but does get in his republican views and some more pandering to Maori with the idea that the made up joke festival of Matariki Day should replace Queens Birthday.

These halfwit socialists seem to have the misguided idea that the Government controls our holiday time. They don't. They control the legislation.

In NZ we have 31 days of leave of which 20 are annual leave entitlements and 11 are stat days. ANZAC day and Waitangi Day have been made floating leave days now so we miss no days that fall on a weekend.

In the rankings of countries we sit at 50th in terms of days off ahead of Australia in 54th place with 30 days.
In front of us and leading the race is Cambodia with a mind boggling 42 days of leave per year and Austria not to far behind at 38. Malta, Mauritius,France, Slovinia and a wealth of other socialist countries all up in front of us along with most of the basket cases from Africa and Eastern Europe.

So instead of another pathetic campaign why don't the lazy useless shiftless employees at the NZ Herald take a few of those other 20 days they have off and take their own extended long weekends? It's what I'll be doing!
